The Daily Sucker - Current examples of bad web design

The Daily Sucker

Sites featured in articles like Worst Websites of 2010 often are redesigned, which explains why some sites mentioned in my articles don't match their current look. The Daily Sucker features current examples of bad web design which haven't been fixed (yet).

If you see a site that you think sucks, email the URL to me. No personal pages (personal pages are supposed to reflect the individual's personality and artistic freedom) or web site designers (it would look like a conflict of interest), or others of their ilk.

If I think there's some merit to your selection, I may post it along with some commentary. If you know of a site that qualifies, let me know.

Submitter’s comments:I decided that this site has to be sent to you. It is for a local golf course/club near my hometown in Devon, UK.

They make the mistakes of using bad contrast, bad imagery, and general bad colour use. I chose this page as it appears to be the worse out the lot. I know its no contender for worst of the web, but I thought that it was bad enough to send.

I’m still surprised at the amount of people making bad sites.

Vincent Flanders’ comments: I’m also surprised, but I guess I shouldn’t be. Personally, I think the home page looks even worse. Those have to be among the ugliest navigation buttons I’ve seen in the last couple of years. The navigation on the subpages is lacking. Just a link back to the home page plus other links to similar topics. That’s poorly phrased, but it’s almost 4:30 a.m. and I’ve been up for a while. Look at the navigation for “The Course” to see what I mean.

Usually, golf courses go over the top by using Flash and Mystery Meat Navigation. This site goes under the bottom.
