Ars Brevis, Vita Longa Bad Use of FrontPage

Visual Arts League

My original comments: Normally, my criticism of art sites is that they're too-too — they go overboard on amazing, but useless, Adobe Flash tricks.

This site looks more like a midwest manufacturing company than an art site.

Reader comments: The Visual Arts League is mind-blowing in its own way: shouldn't artists have some concept of the basic principles of graphic design? Shouldn't they comprehend how to make something not ugly? I have no art training beyond junior high school art classes, but even I know when something looks hideous, and that certainly does. But it doesn't quite reach the eye-tearing horror of some of the others.

Not to mention utterly gigantic spots in the source that are just a zillion Returns. What is that? Did they think they could hide the source code that way?

And yes, it's FrontPage. Maybe it made the gigantic whitespace portions.

When I scroll down the page, why do I feel like I'm in a horror movie being chased by a brush, pallet and some creepy guy in a boat?
